For Siemens - Ionpure, it all started back in 1987 when the first CEDI module was born.
As Millipore Corporation's process water division, Ionpure was the first company to commercialize continuous electro-deionization technology for the industrial water market.
In the years that followed, Ionpure’s ownership changed hands several times. Now, as a part of Siemens, Ionpure continues its dedication to marketing, sales, research and development and manufacturing of its CEDI modules and accessories to OEM customers worldwide. System integrators are able to source state-of-the-art CEDI components from a supplier committed to providing the highest quality products for ultrapure water purification systems, world-class service and the latest technological upgrades.
Based in Lowell, Massachusetts, U.S.A., the Ionpure team has over 200 years of cumulative experience, including with all types of CEDI technology configurations from thin cell and thick cell, to mixed bed, layered bed and separate bed. With over 75 patents, no other company has more experience in the development, testing, design and application of CEDI technology modules, operation and troubleshooting.
Ultrapure Water
Ionpure’s first generation H-Series, Compact and P-Series CEDI modules were installed in the 1000’s all around the world. Industries worldwide replaced conventional mixed bed ion exchanger with CEDI technology. Then in 2001, Ionpure developed the next major advancement with the LX CEDI module.
 Our flagship LX modules, first commercialized in early 2001, offer benefits such as easy installation, low maintenance, compact, rugged design, and the ability to be hot-water sanitized. They are also guaranteed to be leak-free and do not require salt/brine addition or a recirculation pump. The LX family currently includes modules suitable for general industry (X-Series) and hot-water-sanitizable applications (HWS-Series), as well as an ultrapure water unit (UP-Series) that offers greater than 99.5 percent silica, boron and sodium removal. Today, there are thousands of LX modules installed worldwide in water purification systems for applications such as pharmaceutical and semiconductor manufacturing, and power generation.
 Continuing on its innovative path, Ionpure launched the VNX Series in 2004, as well as the LX-HI (Hot Water Sanitizable – Instant) units, and MX Series (laboratory/low flow) modules and accessories to OEM customers worldwide. In 2008, we added the VNX-E and VNX-EX modules, specifically designed to provide ultrapure water to the semiconductor and microelectronics industries.
